ANNE KING, MSW, LCSW - DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL AND DAY TRAINING


Human Support Services (HSS) is grateful for the many years of faithful service the late Deborah H. West devoted to our agency.  As we move forward and fill her position, we are pleased to announce Anne King, MSW, LCSW as our new Director of Residential and Day Services.  She will also serve as the agency’s Corporate Compliance Officer.  Anne joined HSS on February 18 and holds a Master of Social Work degree from St. Louis University.  Previously she worked at St. Vincent Home for Children in St. Louis, MO as well as Hoylelton Youth and Family Services in Hoyleton, IL and Scott Air Force Base Mental Health Clinics.  She is also a licensed child welfare specialist as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Anne comes to HSS with a successful and long history of both direct service to individuals and families with developmental disabilities and mental health needs, as well as administration and management of programs and services.  She is passionate about assisting others in reaching their full potential. 

Anne will be overseeing the operations of the residential program, day training program/sheltered workshop, as well as housing and maintenance.  She will directly supervise a staff of four and indirectly nearly 40 staff, or about 60% of HSS’s 70 staff.  In addition, she will oversee services for around 50 clients in residential services and nearly 70 in day training/sheltered workshop.  Anne will manage program budgets that total almost $3 million.  As a member of the HSS Executive Team, she joins CFO Susan L Harbaugh, HR Director Doug Wood and Clinical Director Julie Ruckman; all are supervised by Executive Director Robert Cole.  HSS is a private not-for-profit agency established in 1973 and is always looking to serve additional clients.  It offers residential services for the mentally ill or developmentally delayed, day services, sheltered workshop opportunities, supported employment and housing targeted for those with developmental disabilities or struggling with mental illness.  If you know of a client in need of services, or one from another county that wants to relocate closer to loved ones, please contact HSS at 618-939-4444. KRISSY MUIR - DIRECT SERVICE WORKER

KATHRYN "KATIE" GUETHLE - PRODUCTION TRAINER




Human Support Services (HSS) is pleased to announce the transfer of Kathryn “Katie” Guethle from the Waterloo/Main residential sites to the sheltered workshop.  Katie is a member of the Service Employees’ International Union Local 1 Missouri Division.  She joined HSS in November 2012 as a site worker at the “Waterloo and Main” apartment sites.  Katie resides in Fults and enjoys spending time with her family.  She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services from Kaplan University.  As a Production Trainer, Katie will be assisting clients in the workshop, helping them focus on work, learn job skills and earn a paycheck.  She will also perform quality control on the items produced by the client workforce and will be supervised by Production Manager Rik Taylor.  The workshop includes six employees who oversee nearly 70 clients.  Projected contract income for FY2014 is $90,000.  HSS is a private not-for-profit agency established in 1973 and is always looking for additional contract work.  Ideal jobs are small piece assembly, sorting, mailings, and the like.  Current contractors include Budnick of Columbia, Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate of Belleville (Lady of the Snows), and S&B Candy & Toy of St. Louis, to name a few.  Do you, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers know of light assembly work HSS could do?  If so, please contact Rik at 618-939-4444. SARAH RIEBELING - SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST


 
Human Support Services (HSS) is pleased to announce the hire of Sarah Riebeling as an administrative support staff employee.  Sarah joined HSS in July 2012 as a student office worker through the Waterloo High School co-operative work program.  She resides in Waterloo and enjoys shopping, spending time with family and friends as well as watching sports.  As a Secretary/Receptionist, Sarah will complete clerical duties for our residential program as well as share receptionist duties with other support staff employees.  She will be supervised by Accountant/Office Manager Stacie Roy.  HSS employs nearly 70 staff.  In FY2013 (July 2012-June 2013), HSS served 681 clients in its mental health outpatient program, 178 in substance abuse outpatient, 81 in day training, 27 in supported employment, 31 in DD CILA, 29 in supported residential, and 21 in supervised residential.  HSS is a private not-for-profit agency established in 1973 and is always looking to serve additional clients.  Do you, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers know of someone in need of behavioral health services?  If so, please encourage him/her to contact HSS at 618-939-4444.  All services are confidential and all outpatient mental health and substance abuse clients are served on sliding scale fee basis that takes into consideration household size and income.  Fee adjustments are also available.  Cost should not be a barrier to services.  Due to funding from the United Way of Greater St. Louis and the local Monroe County Community Mental Health Funding Board (H.B. 708), HSS can set a fee that suits your budget.  Further information can be accessed on the HSS website at www.hss1.org.
