Human Support Services (HSS) is pleased to announce the hire of April Jones as a new substance abuse counselor.   April joined HSS on August 25 and holds a Master’s of Counseling degree from Webster University.  Previously she worked in other mental health settings as a chemical dependency counselor, community support specialist, and case manager.  April and her family reside in Belleville.  She enjoys sewing, couponing, and swimming.  She will be providing substance abuse assessments, DUI evaluations, Level 1 groups, IOP groups, and individual counseling to clients needing substance abuse treatment.  April will be supervised by Clinical Director Julie Ruckman, LCSW.

The mission of Human Support Services (HSS) is to provide high quality, comprehensive services to Monroe County residents with mental health or substance needs, or developmental disabilities.  HSS is a private, non-profit community resource founded in 1973, providing confidential COA-accredited services.  Thanks to the United Way of Greater St. Louis and the local Monroe County Community Mental Health Funding Board (H.B. 708), HSS can set fees that are affordable.  For further information, call 618-939-4444, visit or become a friend on Facebook.
