Human
Support Services (HSS) is pleased to announce the transfer of Kathryn “Katie”
Guethle from the Waterloo/Main residential sites to the sheltered
workshop. Katie is a member of the Service Employees’ International Union
Local 1 Missouri Division. She joined HSS in November 2012 as a site
worker at the “Waterloo and Main” apartment sites. Katie resides in Fults
and enjoys spending time with her family. She is pursuing a Bachelor of
Science degree in Human Services from Kaplan University. As a Production
Trainer, Katie will be assisting clients in the workshop, helping them focus on
work, learn job skills and earn a paycheck. She will also perform quality
control on the items produced by the client workforce and will be supervised by
Production Manager Rik Taylor. The workshop includes six employees who
oversee nearly 70 clients. Projected contract income for FY2014 is
$90,000. HSS is a private not-for-profit agency established in 1973 and
is always looking for additional contract work. Ideal jobs are small
piece assembly, sorting, mailings, and the like. Current contractors
include Budnick of Columbia, Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate of
Belleville (Lady of the Snows), and S&B Candy & Toy of St. Louis, to
name a few. Do you, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers know of
light assembly work HSS could do? If so, please contact Rik at
618-939-4444. Further information can be accessed on the HSS website at www.hss1.org. Like us on Facebook: Human
